Report of the PTHP Teaching Committee
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to present the report of the Didactics Committee of the Polish Society for Legal History. It has been prepared on the basis of responses provided by Polish legal historians to a survey distributed to all academic centers in Poland involved in teaching broadly understood legal history.
Based on these responses, we have compiled a document that summarizes the subjective views of members of our academic community regarding the role and function of legal history in contemporary legal education, teaching methods and assessment practices, textbooks and curricula, as well as perspectives on the future development of our discipline and assessments of student engagement in this field.
A summary of the report’s main findings was published in the journal Krakowskie Studia z Historii Państwa i Prawa (2024, no. 4).
Here, we present the complete results of our work, including a detailed analysis of the full set of empirical data gathered through the survey. We warmly encourage you to read the report, available in both Polish and English. We also invite you to share your feedback, which can be sent to: sekretarz@pthp.pl.
We wish you an enjoyable and thought-provoking read!
